Map Game - Middle East and Africa

Someone sent Tom this map game (see below). The goal is to complete the map by dragging the country name to its appropriate spot on the map.

Holy crap.

I am ashamed. Ashamed!

The middle east I completed okay. Africa... not so much. I'm sure every eight year old in England knows this stuff backwards and forwards. Um, but I could kick those kids' asses, so there.

I feel like I should do this game everyday until I can complete it without resorting to trial and error. If you have concerns about how well you'll perform - I suggest getting drunk before trying this game - so at least you'll have an excuse.

Yeah I can't do this. Especially when I get Sub-Saharan.

For extra fun, try the whole of Africa. If you can do that, you would be in the top 1% of U.S. citizens, I bet.

All I learned about the Africa map was what Landerholm taught us. Eep.

PS I got 19 before I had to trial and error it. Middle East yes, all the -istans, but Africa was a mess past Egypt, Algeria, and Morocco.

I am very ashamed at how little I knew...and we have a huge world map up in our bedroom! Guess I need to study it more.

OK, I had to revert to a little deductive logic, but between (1) my current job focusing on the Middle East; (2) our planned trip to Morocco next month - which has caused me to track all the politics across North Africa veeeery carefully these last months; and (3) a healthy dose of luck, I did not completely embarrass myself. Which only makes me realize that two or three months ago, I knew nothing about 85% of these countries...

OK, I did pretty well with N. Africa, but then it all went to hell when I got to the 'stans.
