summer entertainment

It's nice to have free time again. I spent January through April cranking out a screenplay (nothing exciting). Then May through July was all-scuba-all-the-time. The dive instructor "bar exam" is the middle of next month, so I have a few weeks of laid back summer to enjoy. Here are my culture picks of the moment:

MUSIC
Thou Shalt Always Kill is my song of the moment. I think my favorite line is, "Thou shalt remember that guns, bitches and bling were never part of the four elements and never will be."

WATCHING
I don't watch TV anymore, but I do get the occaisional gem from youtube. Ever wondered what it's like to be Asian American? This series of sketches from MAD TV hit the nail on the head.

READING
The guy who wrote the Zombie Survival Guide wrote a book about what the world would be like after an infestation of zombies. I'm not kidding, World War Z is a worthwhile read.

KILLING
I hate tomato worms. No they are not cute. They attacked my tomato planet while I was gone for the weekend. It was horrible. They ate the whole top third of my poor Lucy plant. But I showed them. They will suffocate the death inside ziploc coffins. If they do escape, they'll be trapped in the boiling hot apartment dumpster. No one, but no one, messes with my Lucy.
